The Most Effective Way Lose Weight and Keep It Off

Like many of you, the reason I started exercising was to lose weight. Let’s be honest, most people just want to look and feel better. First, I tried training on my own. I would go to the gym, bench press, do some bicep curls, and crush the stair stepper for 30 minutes. I tried watching my diet. I tried every fad diet under the sun but nothing really worked. I was about 20 lbs overweight, frustrated because I worked my butt off in the gym, thought I was being careful with my diet, and the scale wouldn’t budge.

I knew I needed to change something, so I joined a CrossFit gym thinking that a change in training might do the trick. NOPE! I loved the workouts & the community, I moved better, I got stronger, but I was still 20 lbs overweight. The reason I joined the gym was to lose weight, so while all these other things that changed about me were great, I still wasn’t getting what I came for.

Guidance and accountability on nutrition was the missing piece. After being frustrated for months, I finally hired a nutrition coach (I still use one to this day). It wasn’t until I was being held accountable to someone, and had someone to make me a plan that fit my life that the weight started to come off. I Lost 20 lbs and went from dad bod to (semi) athletic quickly.
