How did you hear about CrossFit in general and how’d you end up at Yankee CrossFit?
I heard about CrossFit from my sister who started going to a different gym. She couldn’t get enough of it and I needed a change; I needed more motivation with my fitness lifestyle so I saw that Yankee was at the end of the road that I work on and decided to try the free class. I never looked back.
What reservations did you have before starting CrossFit / How or what did you do to overcome it?
I didn’t know much about it so I didn’t have many reservations. When I first started a lot of people that don’t do CrossFit told me I was going to get hurt because “all CrossFit people do.” To avoid that, I just listened to my coaches, scaled as necessary, pushed myself just enough but not too much, and found out what my limits were.
What differences have you seen in your day to day life that has impacted you positively since starting at YCF? (Friends, mindset, physical, etc.)
I’ve gained a community of great people and some close friends! I feel stronger and am more confident of the body CrossFit has shaped me into. I can certainly bring more bags of groceries into the house at one time!!
What do you love the most about CrossFit in general and YCF?
I love the RESULTS!!
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about joining YCF?
Most people look at the dollar amount associated with CrossFit and immediately think “no way.” The way I look at it is it’s investing in yourself; and what’s more important than you and your health? Yankee has proven to me that by signing up for this gym you WILL see results and you will love yourself. You definitely won’t regret it.
